Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android tablet review: how is it compared to the iPad 2?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
is out, and it is thinner than any other tablet on the market at 8.6 mm
(0.34 inches), even the skinny iPad 2 (8.8 mm). After the Samsung execs
saw the Apple iPad 2 and got it in their hands, they went back to the
drawing board and came out with the skinniest tablet and one of the
lightest, at 1.25 lbs (compare to Apple’s 1.33 lbs).
Light and then, and offering a 10.1 inch display as opposed to Apple’s
9.7 inch display on their second generation tablet, this is the
biggest-screened tablet in a super-portable design.
Borrowing a classic, clean look from the iPad 2 and Google Android Honeycomb 3.1 operating system from the Motorola Xoom, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is priced at $499 for their 16 GB model, and $599 for the 32 GB version. This is right in the perfect range for comparable tablets, and the entire feature set and retail in such a sleek, lightweight package has rocketed the Tab 10.1 Wifi right to the #1 spot on Amazon’s Top 100 Tablets list.

When
it first came out, it immediately hit #1 out of the 80 or so tablets on
Amazon, but many tablets accomplish that on launch. For the Tab 10.1 16
GB model to still rank above the Motorola Xoom (#2), its 32 GB version
(#3), and Apple iPad 2 16 GB (#7) is quite an accomplishment. This
reflects, in part, the performance of the powerful Nvidia Tegra 2 dual
core 1 GHz processor that carries out your requests twice as quickly as
single core 1 GHz models. Analysts are calling it the tablet processor
of the year already.
The display on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi
is also top notch. It is hard to argue against this being one of the
top two or three displays in the entire tablet marketplace, with
incredibly detailed 10.1 inch WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution. Flash player
10.2 support means movies, web pages and games all appear in the best
possible rendering, and combined with the best, fastest tablet processor
and a top display, this is one great Tablet PC value.Source: Here
